Robinson Treacher

August 27, 2023

Robinson was back at Northern Light by popular demand two years after his 2021 concert. He always exceeds our expectations.  He mixes his original music with stories and commentary which keeps the audience very entertained.  He played some of his familiar favorites, such as Born and Woman, as well as a variety of songs he has written in the two years since we last had him at Northern Light.  The audience ate it up.  One person, who has been at many Northern Light shows, remarked that he felt it was our best show yet!

The Kennedys

June 25, 2023

The skies opened up and “the rain poured down like hammered gold” as the Kennedys pulled into our driveway an hour before the show, so we brought it inside.  Pete and Maura did an amazing show in the more intimate

indoor setting.  Since they were about to debut their new album, Headwinds, they played a selection of new songs from it including Little Green Bottles, Yolanda, New Set of Wheels, and the title track from the album. They also did a selection of crowd favorites, including their foundation song, Half A Million Miles, and one of their earliest songs, River of Fallen Stars. The appreciative crowd  gave them a well deserved standing ovation.  One person remarked, “I’ve seen many Kennedy shows, and this one ranks among the best ever.”   We agree…..

Kevin Higgins & Barbara Maltese

May 21, 2023

Northern Light hosted this talented couple for their first engagement in our venue.  Kevin and Barbara are well known in this part of the country, having toured here for over 15 years.  The audience of new and long time fans was treated to another one of their wonderful performances.

Their two sets included such favorites as  The Levee Boys, Curtains, and Infinity, and a cover of John Prine’s Clay Pigeons as well as a segment featuring Barbara’s music.  The second set also moved into some of the new music that Kevin has been writing since they moved to New York State.  Their performance of Sundowners (Bag of Mixed Blessings) brought a hush to audience.

The beautiful weather for an  outdoor concert, and the appreciative audience made for a memorable afternoon in May.  They will be invited back again.

Craig Bickhardt

September 25,  2022

We had to bring our late September concert indoors (for the first time) because of weather.  We were hoping the indoor setting would work well for comfortable seating and acoustics.

Craig excelled in this more intimate setting.  The audience of about 40 people was comfortably seated when Craig started with Prayers for You.   He played two 45 minutes sets which included some new as-yet unpublished songs along with some old favorites including You are what love means to me, Even a cowboy can cry, This old house, If he came back again, and In between dances,

People who know him knew what to expect, but many people who are new to his music were wowed by this show.  He delighted the audience with lead in stories before most of his songs. He finished to a standing ovation.

This was a very successful first indoor show at Northern Light and a great way to end the 2022 season.

Lucy Kaplansky   June 19,2022

On a beautiful summer evening just before the solstice Lucy enchanted an audience of about 45 people with her music.  As all good singer/songwriters do, she mixed personal stories with songs to create a mesmerizing evening for all of us.

She performed songs from her new album Last Days of Summer  along with many favorites from previous albums.

Jesse Terry at Northern Light October 3, 2021

                        On a

beautiful Sunday afternoon in early October Jesse wove his music and storytelling into a spellbinding show.

Jesse featured songs from his newly released album When We Wander as well as many classics from previously released albums.

Robinson Treacher  August 25, 2021

Robinson wowed the audience of about 45 people on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, playing two sets of old favorites and some new material.  He opened with Working through the  pain and went on through an excellent set.  He delighted the audience with his  Weed song

He brought the crowd to their feet with Born, and closed to a standing ovation.

Thanks to Leah Kirk for the wonderful photographs.

Craig Bickhardt  September 2019

Craig is an extraordinary singer-songwriter from Glen Mills, PA.  He has written hundreds of songs,  many of which have been recorded by artists such as Martina McBride and The Sweethearts of the Rodeo.  Craig did two sets on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for a gathering of about 35 fans.

Craig performed such favorites as Where in the World, Prayers for You, and This Old House receiving a standing ovation at the end of  the show.  We’re happy to welcome him back again in 2022.

Our opening show

The Kennedys   August 2019

One of our all-time  favorite performing duos, The Kennedys, opened Northern Light with a  super fun show.  Pete and Maura did what they do best—-enchanted the audience with two sets.  We couldn’t have asked for a better performance for our opening show.  An audience of about 50 fans attended including many long time Kennedy fans as well as newcomers who went away as new Kennedy fans.
